Avinoam, Reuben
(1905-74)
   Israeli poet and translator. Born in Chicago, he settled in Palestine in 1929, where he taught English. In 1950 he became supervisor of English studies at the Israeli ministry of education and culture. He published poetry, translations and a collection of literary writings of those who died in the Israeli War of Independence.
